May 3 Hands Off Rally Ludington
The sun was shining in Downtown Ludington as some 250 people gathered in front of the Mason County Court House, lining Ludington Ave., joining May Day events around the country this weekend. Thanks to Indivisible of Ludington for organizing a wonderful event, and to everyone who attended. We must continue to raise awareness and pressure our elected officials to do their jobs.
APRIL 5 HANDS OFF RALLY LUDINGTON
WE STAND WITH UKRAINE
With signs in hand, we peacefully demonstrate to raise awareness of Ukraine’s struggle and resilience.
Supporting Ukraine is about upholding democratic values, protecting global security, and ensuring that might does not make right in international relations.
March Mad as Hell Hump Day Rally, 3/19/25
Thank you to the more than 50 folks who took a noon break with the Mason County Dems in front of the courthouse today, as our March Mad As Hell Hump Day Rallies continue. The COOL part is we are seeing new faces all the time. Thanks for coming out.
MARCH MAD AS HELL HUMP DAY RALLY, 3/12/25
The Mason County Democratic Party kicked off March 12 its “Mad as Hell Hump Day protest, from noon to 1:00 pm in front of the Mason County Courthouse in downtown Ludington. More than 50 people attended, signs in hand to protest the Trump-Musk chaos campaign we are living through just two months into this administration.
The peaceful protestors expressed their anger regarding the current reckless chainsaw approach to government efficiency — destroying the livelihood of the civil servants we rely on and make it more difficult for citizens to find/receive the services they need.
Trump and his cronies are dismantling, with no warning or transparency, civil service offices and positions in place for constituent services. Trump’s executive orders and actions are dismantling our government at warp speed, with no plan for the path forward.
At the rally people held signs that reflect their fears and concerns, from protecting Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, our veterans, and public education to ending the unnecessary tariffs and support for Ukraine.
Mason County Dems will continue their Wednesday noon rallies on March 19 and 26 in front of the courthouse.

Peggy Raddatz (Manistee County) Secretary
Dallas Dean (Newaygo County) Treasurer

Presidents Day, Not Kings Day Rally
The Mason County Dems took to the streets on Presidents Day, Feb. 17, in front of the Mason County Courthouse, joining the peaceful protest nationwide that day opposing the Trump Administration’s Consolidation of executive power. About 35 hardy Michiganders wanted to remind their community that we live in a democracy, not an oligarchy or dictatorship.
The reason speaking out is so important is that it lowers the perceived risk for those who are still silent but have something to say. Your courage matters. Your voice matter. It makes the waters warmer, no matter the temperature outside!
